Gorilla Trekking Safaris — Rwanda and Uganda
Go on a gorilla trekking tour in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park or Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga National Park. For these adventurous tours in Rwanda and Uganda, consider renting a 4×4 vehicle. We will assist you in obtaining a gorilla trekking permit for your chosen location. You can collect it when you pick up the car from our office in Kigali or Entebbe. We have Cars in all budgets, irrespective of where you are starting your self-drive safari from. Pick up from Kigali in Rwanda and drive to Uganda because we offer cross-border safaris and one-way car rentals.

Gorilla Safari Packages
Gorilla safaris rank among the most appealing tour activities in both Rwanda and Uganda. Every safari will feature gorilla trekking in either Rwanda or Uganda. You have the option to go gorilla trekking on a self-drive trip. When you pick up the vehicle, our representative will provide you with a briefing on how to prepare for the days leading up to your trekking date. As experienced safari guides, we possess extensive knowledge about the process.
For safaris to Bwindi Forest, there are four sections available for your gorilla tour, and the section you choose should correspond with your overnight accommodation. This is important because the gorilla briefing at the park headquarters begins at 8 am, so timely arrival is essential. When tracking gorillas in Uganda, it is necessary to bring a packed lunch and sufficient water, as it is more challenging compared to trekking in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda.
Gorilla Trek and Self-Drive Tours
Rent a vehicle for Gorilla trekking safaris in Rwanda or Uganda. We offer 4×4 options across all budgets for safaris, including Gorilla trekking tours. The Land Cruiser is consistently the best choice for Gorilla tours, particularly in Uganda’s Bwindi National Park and Mgahinga. For those trekking in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, a small SUV may suffice, although a 4×4 is necessary in certain areas.
The roads in these mountainous National Parks can be quite difficult due to the persistent rain. If you begin your journey from Entebbe in Uganda, you will need 3 days for the Gorilla trek. This 10-hour drive will necessitate a rest after the trek. Nevertheless, we always recommend booking a flight to Entebbe and then securing the last flight from Kigali in Rwanda to prevent lengthy day drives.
