Unique Part-Time Opportunity!! Flexible Schedule Available!

HW Staffing has a unique part-time/per diem opportunity for standardized patients to play a vital role in the education, development, and evaluation of healthcare professionals.

We offer $22.00 hourly; candidates must be available three days a week, 8:00am-6:00pm. This is not full-time work or a guaranteed number of hours per week/per month.

A standardized patient (SP) is an individual trained to portray a real patient to simulate a set of symptoms or problems used for healthcare education, evaluation, and research. SPs are trained to play the role of a patient or a family member to allow participants to practice history taking skills, physical exam skills, and communication skills. SPs are trained to realistically portray a variety of patient types in a standardized, structured, and repeatable way.

If selected as a standardized patient, you will receive extensive training in:

• Portraying a realistic patient.
• Simulating symptoms.
• Undergoing and assessing non-invasive physical examinations.
• Accurately assessing participants on guided checklists.
• Providing communication based verbal feedback.

Requirements:

• Daytime availability, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm (to work a flexible schedule)
• Reliability, flexibility, and punctuality are essential.
• Excellent memorization, recall, and communication skills.
• Ability to be objective and follow directions.
• Basic computer skills utilizing the mouse/keyboard, as well as familiarity with Zoom.
• Acting experience desirable but not required.
• Previous standardized patient experience desirable but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED), associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
