Marshfield Clinic – Archive is seeking a Monitor/Video Technician to support pediatric care at Marshfield Children’s within our integrated Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will operate, monitor, and troubleshoot video and physiologic monitoring equipment used to observe pediatric patients in inpatient and procedural settings. Working closely with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals, you will ensure continuous, high‑quality visual and monitoring coverage that supports rapid clinical decision‑making and patient safety. The Monitor/Video Technician is responsible for setting up, calibrating, and maintaining video monitoring systems, bedside and central monitors, recording devices, and related networked hardware. You will review live and recorded feeds to detect alarms, changes in patient status, or equipment issues, and promptly escalate concerns to appropriate clinical staff according to established protocols. Accurate documentation of monitoring activities, events, and technical interventions in electronic systems is essential, as is strict adherence to privacy, security, and infection‑control standards. You will collaborate within a collaborative, patient‑first culture that values compassion, integrity, and continuous improvement. Daily work includes partnering with nursing staff to verify monitor parameters, ensuring proper camera placement and image quality, and educating unit staff on the basic use and limitations of video and monitoring technology. You will participate in quality assurance activities, assist with new equipment evaluations or implementations, and contribute to process improvements that enhance patient safety and workflow efficiency. This position requires strong technical aptitude with medical video and monitoring systems, basic understanding of clinical alarms and vital sign trends, and the ability to troubleshoot connectivity, power, and configuration issues quickly in a fast‑paced environment. Attention to detail, timely communication, and the ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous monitoring responsibilities are critical. You must consistently protect patient confidentiality while handling live and recorded images, following all HIPAA and organizational policies.
