Financial Aid Officer, Texas McCombs

The Financial Aid Officer for MBA and MS graduate students at the McCombs School of Business provides comprehensive advising and support on financial aid matters. This role exercises independent judgment in reviewing and resolving complex student cases, ensures compliance with Office of Student Financial Aid policies and federal regulations, prepares reports for graduate programs, and collaborates with campus partners to administer scholarships and other financial support programs.

Responsibilities include administering special scholarship programs, counseling and advising graduate students regarding their financial aid options, preparing and reviewing all paperwork for the students, supporting ongoing development and implementation of new technology resources to improve efficiency and service to students, and partnering with Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid through escalation of student inquiries and/or issues that require triaging and specialized review and resolution to OSFA.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree and three years of experience with financial aid and scholarships, prior experience working with students, a working knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, ability to work independently with little supervision, excellent written and editing skills, strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, and being detail oriented. Preferred qualifications include prior UT experience, prior experience with UT SFA and LASSO, and prior experience with the university mainframe system. Salary range is $55,000+ depending on qualifications.

Working conditions may include working under standard office conditions with repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation, and this is an Austin, Texas-based position.
