The Merchandising Intern, Design is responsible for supporting the Design and Merchandising Teams during an 8‑week program located onsite at our headquarters in Issaquah, WA. The role will assist the product line with a wide range of product categories and tasks, providing administrative support within design and merchandising. During the 8‑week period, the Design Intern will create and present an original trend and design project for one or two chosen categories. What Will You Be Doing? Help maintain the fabric swatch library, trim libraries, color libraries and sample racks. Help maintain color swatch organization of CSI and Pantone Color Systems. Assist in the preparation of samples and design illustrations/renderings for design and merchant presentations, management meetings, etc. Research competitor offerings and compile documentation by building spreadsheets or PowerPoint decks. Conduct a variety of general administrative tasks for the department or departments as assigned. Job shadow various members of the department and assist them as needed. Participate in intern cohort activities including professional development workshops, warehouse tours, and meetings with leadership. May perform or support special projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. What Are We Looking For? Currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Design, Merchandising, or related field. Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytic, and problem‑solving skills. Strong desire to learn along with professional drive. Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly. Administrative skills which must include excellent verbal and written communication skills. Responsive to staff needs, including professionalism, respect and consideration of others. What's Our Offer? Pay: You’ll earn $21.39 on an hourly basis. Paid Time Off: You’ll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked. What Should You Expect? Hybrid: SanMar's Eastpointe office is located in Issaquah, WA in the Seattle metropolitan area. Employees are required to work in our offices Tuesday through Thursday each week and additional days may be added based on business needs. Our standard working hours are 8:00‑5:00 PST. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions. Quarterly travel may be required. Why Work at SanMar?
