WGTS 91.9 and WGBZ 88.3 are Federal Communications Commission licensed noncommercial radio stations operated by Atlantic Gateway Communications, Inc., (AGC) which is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

SUMMARY

The Leadership Development intern is responsible for assisting the Programming, Donor Care, Fundraising, Listener Care and Community Engagement/Promotions departments in various types of assignments throughout the summer. Interacting with listeners, loading vehicles, setting up displays, tracking and managing inventory, organizing volunteers and team members, and assisting department managers in varied duties as requested. The position also participates in professional, educational and planning meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides support for all offsite promotions and concert team events
  • Supports station activities at the office and in the community as assigned
  • Supports the promotions team as requested
  • Participates in weekly educational meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contributes to the broader AGC/WGTS team effort to encourage everyone we encounter to take one step closer to Christ
  • Provides occasional support for social media efforts
  • Observes various committees for the organization as a part of the reporting requirement

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Positive, personable attitude coupled with an outgoing personality
  • Ability to take direction but can confidently work autonomously
  • Must successfully pass a security background check
Education and/or Experience
  • College student (junior or senior preferred) studying Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Language Skills
  • Superior command of English grammar and spelling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Outstanding customer service approach and understanding

Technology Skills

  • Basic understanding of how to operate standard business equipment.
  • Working knowledge and application of Microsoft 365, including Teams, Excel and PowerPoint

Work Environment

  • Travel: up to 50% locally

Typically Monday - Friday 8:30a - 5:30p with some late nights and weekend shifts. Must be flexible.
Approximately 38-40 hours per week with minimal overtime depending on events.
