The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will facilitate brain donation, including obtaining consent from next of kin (NOK), and clinical, medical, and educational information on brain tissue donors. The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for participating in the 24/7 on-call schedule, plus follow up of approximately 25% of the donations that come to Autism BrainNet. For autistic donors, the CRC will carry out postmortem Autism Diagnostic Interview -Revised (ADI-R), or attempt to confirm autism diagnosis through systematic collection and examination of medical/educational records. The CRC will input all donor-related data into the database. Additionally, the CRC will manage and carry out special projects as requested to support trending researcher and programmatic interests.

The MIND Institute is a research and clinical center whose mission involves awareness, understanding, and treatment of the challenges associated with neurodevelopmental conditions. It is a matrix organization and encompasses over 250 faculty and staff from 14 academic departments, with an annual operating budget of approximately $4 million, contract awards totaling approximately $16 million, and gifts and endowments valued at approximately $14 million. The MIND Institute also houses 2 sponsored center grants: the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC - NIH), University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (CEDD - AUCD), 3 federally sponsored training grants: Developmental Behavioral Pediatric Fellowship Program (HRSA), Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND - HRSA), and a Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (HRSA).
